Boston Tattoo Artist
A native Bostonian, Mike Helz is also a Boston original.

His style is bold, and brings together a combination of extremely strong linework and a vast repertoire of shading styles and techniques.

Mike describes his own style as "All-Original Black & Grey Horror Art and Graffiti," but Mike is also a master tattooist, a true veteran of the trade with a wide range of skills and nearly 14 years of professional experience.

Mike is very, very good at fixing up old tattoos, whether its a cover-up, a re-work, or taking an old tattoo and turning it into that impressive artistic piece you've always dreamed of having. Mike also works extensively with original customer artwork, which he translates into original skin art.

Mike apprenticed at Celebrity Tattoo in Denver, CO, moved on to Color the World in Boulder, and then back home again...and has been spreading his original macabre style around the greater Boston area ever since.

Mike's talents were first brought to the public's attention in 1991, when he was a young artist on the Boston Graffiti scene; Mike has since been commissioned to design murals in Boston, New York, Connecticut and Colorado.

The government's hardline stance on illegal drugs appeared to be unravelling yesterday as two more scientists on its advisory council quit in protest at the sacking of their chairman, Professor David Nutt.

Dr Les King resigned from the 21-member Advisory Council on the Misuse of Drugs, saying Home Secretary Alan Johnson had denied Professor Nutt's right to “freedom of expression”.

He was followed by Marion Walker, the council representative from the Royal Pharmaceutical Society. There were predictions last night that more departures would follow.
